When you try to go to bed at 6:30 pm, then not-yet-11:00 seems so late. But it's still pretty early, so you feel as if you might as well get up, as if you've got a second lease on life. But then you realize there's nothing worth staying awake for really anyhow, so you take one last look at your developing black eye (will it get darker or won't it?) and climb back into bed.
